The difference between ISLSM and WFSLMS
The ISLSM is an association empowered to hold a meeting held biennially dedicated to the presentation of basic sciences and clinical research conducted by individuals.

The WFSLMS distributes information regarding the new technology and ideas of scientific research presented at the ISLSM. The distribution process occurs on a constant basis, and a forum is held every four years to share the activities conducted by each of the laser societies.

 NPO WFSLMS
On January 2004, NPO status was granted to a branch of the Federation entitled “NPO WFSLMS.” The branch was originally founded in the year 2002 by Professor Kaplan. It was initiated under the title of “Kaplan Atsumi Foundation in Munich,” but was later renamed to NPO WFSLMS. The NPO plans to execute its proposed global activities which include establishing branches in multiple states and contributing to social welfare through the advancement of laser technology. The NPO demands no membership fees and is looking to increase the number of projects and members; therefore, any individual who is interested in membership of this organization is welcome, and should not hesitate to contact the Secretariat of the NPO WFSLMS. In addition, any donations to the fund are also welcome. The NPO aims to contribute to the health and welfare of the public through the use of minimally invasive, highly haemostatic laser treatment that will save the patient’s valuable blood, lessen the metastasis of cancer, the risk of blood transfusion; and the risk morbidity associated with blood-borne infections such as AIDS and hepatitis. The seven major projects of the NPO are:

  1. Assisting worldwide academic societies
  2. Promoting B-SAC (Blood Saving Campaign) Lasers
  3. Developing mobile laser treatment
  4. Educating and training personnel in the usage of laser medicine
  5. Developing new methods of laser treatments
  6. Licensing and authorizing
  7. Developing new laser machinery
